Exams

I am writing my officially-final exams. Its been fun but very tideous. I haven't had time for anything else since I started. You know I realized something that made me feel not too great am just glad there is always a good part to life. I realized my vision for how i should do things was right all along but guess what i didn't do it. I didn't believe in myself. Am in part 5 and I feel so old and in adequate. I remember the good old days. I almost wish i was young again.

Hey thank God am a life anyways am sure there would be more to be happy about as time goes. God is good all the time.

Mind your cell phone manners

Have you ever experienced a cell phone user whom you wanted to pack up and ship to Miss Manners? Or have you ever witnessed a person on a cell phone do something so completely rude that you stop in your tracks? I have, and it continues to intrigue me just how polarizing cell phones can be. Sure, almost everyone has one, but they can drive even their most loyal users crazy.

Though I write about cell phones every day, even I think it makes perfect sense that cell phones are continually cited in studies that say good manners have gone out of the window. You don't need a sociology degree to see just how handsets have changed how we relate to each other; and I'm not talking about their positive effects (though indeed there are some). Rather, I'm talking about how you can put a cell phone in an otherwise courteous person's hand and then watch how that person loses all awareness of the people around him.

Let me emphasize that I'm no luddite. I think cell phones are great and serve a very useful purpose. But just as people hide behind e-mail to avoid face-to-face communication, it's amazing how some cell phone users think a handset makes them so much more important than everyone else. Here's some extreme behavior I've seen and be sure to share your own experiences and advice, as well.

Be nice to the person behind the counter

Last week I was waiting in line to order lunch behind a man blabbing away on his phone. When he got to the counter, he handed the cafe employee a piece of paper with his order and said, "I'm on an important call." So is it just me or is that completely rude? Doesn't the person behind the lunch counter deserve just an ounce of respect? I think so. Next time Mr. Important, hang up or at least put your caller on hold.

Take it outside

I'm also in favor of taking your phone outside, or at least away from the table, when you get a call in a restaurant. No one around you, much less your tablemates, care to hear what you have to say. That is, unless your guiding someone to your table in a cavernous eatery. And if it's really important, you could always text. But even that has a limit, as well.

Use your inside voice

I'm always fascinated how people's voices (me included) automatically go up a few decibels when they get on a cell phone. I can understand when you're using your phone in a crowd, near a construction site, or next to your local airport runway, but it happens even in quiet rooms. I just don't get it.

You're welcome

Have you ever held the door for someone who's been on the phone without them acknowledging your presence? It happened to me last week. Remember folks: Even though you're on the phone you still exist in this world to other people.

Drive to distraction

I know I'll open a whole can of worms here but please, when you're driving with a phone use a headset. And whatever you do, don't text while driving. Yikes.

Yes, they're talking to you

I don't pay $10 to hear your cell phone ring during a movie so turn it off. But if you absolutely have to keep your phone on, please turn it on vibrate. And please don't start talking until after you've left the theater. It's just being polite. The same goes for weddings, funerals, and other milestone events. Every time I went to my college's graduation, they'd ask people to turn off their phones before the ceremony. And every time, someone's phone would ring and they'd slink out of the building. Remember that when they ask you to turn off your phone, they're talking to you.

Work out your body, not your mouth

I don't care how important you think you are, the gym is no place for a cell phone. Don't talk when you're doing cardio and don't take up space on equipment so you can sit and catch up the latest dish. If you're bored while you spin, read a magazine.

Not in the bathroom

Don't use your phone in a public restroom. That's just gross.

Remember the people around you

If you're out with a group of friends, it's fine to answer the phone for a few minutes. Just don't make that conversation more important than the one you're already having. Granted, I know I'm throwing stone from a glass house, but be courteous and keep it to a limit.

Bluetooth geeks

I've made no secret of the fact that I think wearing a Bluetooth headset when you're not talking on the phone just make you look like a geek. That's why I'm saying it again here.

A poem i wrote about 2 years ago during my exams. If i actually think about it, i do most of my thinking when reading for exams; trying to work on that thou. I need to concentrate more those times. What do you think?

Talking about Habits

You know i was talking about filling this blog every May well the last anniversary missed it was because i forgot my password, terrible i know.

Well, guess what, am back to stay. I just realised journals and diaries have a very important role to play in our wonderful life's i.e. its a real good habit to pick

Today i think i am going to take out a few minutes to talk about something i felt on a little journey i was on last week. Well its strength and perfection. Some time ago i realised that since i was little i always prayed for knowledge, understanding and wisdom but no particularly for strength. Well am older now and i needed strength so I took a dive at it.

This journey i am talking about, was very straineous thou it wasn't meant to be and we were practically on the road for 4 days with only a few hours to rest. Everyone grew slightly wary but on top of that i grew very weak and tired. It hit me that i was very weak amongst the bunch i was actually coming down with something.

I asked my question what was wrong why wasn't i strong. I told myself i was perfect because i was created in the image and likeness of God. An answer then came to me that a fault is not a flaw. It didn't mean the end either; it meant the strengthen of my perfection, the breaking of my limits. All i had to do was hold on and be strong and eventually i would be stronger. Funny enough that helped me stop talking about it with people and helped me manage the problem. In no time I was up and kicking like a new born baby.

The fault! had served its purpose.



So... Faults are part of strengths and strengths are part of perfection.
It all is one when you see each through.

Habits!!

Habits are a hell of a thing you know. Its the ones you really think are good, you can never get to stick: but the onces that are really bad for you, actually go by like nothing ever happened. Take for instance i wanted to be regular with this blog but just check out, hmm. 2 months and just a post.

I really need to find a way to re-instill discipline back into by humble self.i knew i was slipping right now am not sure what am doing.

Anniversary

You wouldn't believe this but today makes it a whole year ago I created this blog. So its an anniversary.

You know the world works in mysterious ways. Am still wondering why its today of all days I get to check start using this blog again not like I remembered it was the anniversary.

Look at me. I haven't done this in a long time I hope I can keep it up. So I wonder what makes me feel this blog today.

What I did not know!!

I have always craved for knowledge all my life. I dont know, amidst my little search i realised, may be ,i missed out a point and may be i didnt but i think i realised today that learning and knowledge are not the same thing. One thing is for sure you need them both. Atimes its better to learn or rather major to learn. Knowledge is just kind of handy although learning isnt really complete without it.

You can have knowledge and still not have learnt anything. I think maybe thats where wisdom comes in.

In the Beginning

I know this should come first..... but i say there is really no format to life and if there is i have'nt found it yet.

This marks the beginning of what i call the journals of a complex mind. Working out the ways of my little but complex mind. This here is me. This here is my life.

This is a simple sunday morning in church. Why am i doing this, i know. Why am not, is because i want to. Right now its time to listen...

To begin, i would give you a summary of what i have become. Then you will judge what i am going to be. Then you will know what you are.

I was at a business conference last week. A meeting of over 91 Md's and CEO's. Trust me at a point i was really disappointed. Yeah we were at a 5 star hotel and people were well dressed and all but alot more was missing.

Yes, it takes alot to get out of the ghetto. It takes struggle, dishonesty, dishumanity but these are the ways of the ghetto so lets leave them there. Everytime, your in a new place learn the ethics. Who you are is no tthe ethics of where you are from; but just - who you are. How you handle change. Places are not the same means everything might not be the same.

When you get out of the ghetto your out then stay out. Try to learn how people leave out of the ghetto.
ETHICS ARE IMPORTANT

Well me. Am a simple person with simple needs with a complex mind in a complex world.
I started out being a simple addition of two numbers, but i never wanted to change with time.
Always wanted to end with the same answer. Then life crept in.
